An adjustable bed is a bed that can be adjusted to a number of different positions. Adjustable beds are also called as Semi-fowler beds. These beds are similar to the beds seen in hospitals. The bed can be adjusted to various positions to suit the requirements of the user. People, who have medical conditions (usually spine problems) which require them to sleep in certain positions, use the adjustable beds to sleep more comfortably. Some people use the bed just to have a comfortable sleep. Adjustable beds relieve the strain on certain parts of the body and provide proper spinal alignment. Adjustable beds can be altered into a comfortable position as per requirements of the sleeper. They are also very comfortable for reading or for watching TV in bed. The main benefit of the adjustable bed is that it can be molded according to the personīs body structure and it provides utmost comfort and relaxation. Sleeping on an adjustable bed with a slight incline of 30 to 45 degrees may be very comfortable with the upper body positioned higher up than the lower body and some support under the knees to bend the knees at a slight angle.
